Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has underscored Pakistan’s ties with Gulf states and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region, according to the Foreign Office (FO).

Dar has made the remarks while chairing the closing session of the Regional Envoys’ Conference in Islamabad, where he highlighted Pakistan’s “longstanding, historic and brotherly relations with Gulf countries, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthen these important partnerships across political, economic, and people-to-people dimensions”, according to a post on social media by the FO.

It adds that he “reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhance economic engagement and promoting regional peace and stability”.

“DPM/FM took stock of the comprehensive deliberations and key recommendations emerging over the past few days,” the FO adds. “He emphasised that the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora in Gulf countries and across the world remains a top priority of the government.”

Dar has also highlighted Pakistan’s constructive and facilitative role in promoting regional peace and stability, and stressed the importance of sustained engagement, according to the FO.
