RAWALPINDI: A man was gunned down by robbers in Satellite Town while another robbery victim was forced to transfer money online to two armed persons in Morgah.

Saleem Haider lodged an FIR with the New Town police stating that his cousin Shahid Iqbal, resident of Air Defence Karachi, came to Rawalpindi for completion of his documents for going abroad. He said armed persons intercepted him in a street at Satellite Town and snatched Rs45,000 from him. On resistance, Iqbal was shot dead by the robbers.

In another incident, a man was taken at gunpoint by two robbers who snatched Rs3,200 from him and also forced him to online transfer money in their account in Morgah.

Adnan Sadiq, a resident of Gulistan Colony, reported to the police that he works as a cab driver. He dropped a passenger in Bahria Town Phase VII and was returning when he stopped outside Fauji Foundation Hospital. While he was waiting in his car, two persons riding a motorcycle pulled up. One of the suspects pointed a pistol at him and snatched Rs3,200 cash. The other forced him to online transfer Rs6,000 to his account, he said.
