Kiln owner attacks Wapda team

GUJRANWALA, July 2: A kiln owner along with his workers attacked a Wapda recovery team when it was going to disconnect power supply to his kiln owing to non-payment of dues in Kamoki on Sunday.

Reports said SDO Habibullah along with his team went to the brick kiln of Naeem Ashraf and removed the meter owing to non-payment of bill. Ashraf and his men attacked the recovery team with clubs. The SDO called the police and lodged an FIR against him.

It is stated that the kiln owner was also stealing electricity by tampering with the meter. A power theft case was also got registered against him.

STABBED: A police head-constable was stabbed and injured allegedly by a drug pusher in Garjakh here on Sunday.

Head-constable Abdul Razzaq had went to the house of Ilyas for arresting him, but he attacked him with a knife and escaped.

The injured policeman was taken to the DHQ Hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A newly wed youth was shot dead allegedly by his neighbourer over an old enmity in Jokhian Ahmad Nagar on Sunday.
