VEHARI, July 2: In a petition filed by the mother of a man killed in an alleged encounter Additional Sessions Judge Subah Sadiq Khan has summoned 15 policemen including a DSP and an SHO, besides a former UC nazim and a councillor on July 7.

Rasheedan Bibi, mother of one Ashraf alias Jani, who was killed in an encounter with Vehari police on May 24, has filed petition for registration of a murder case against DSP Zafar Dogar, Saddar SHO Aslam Ghumman, contable Zia and 12 other policemen, besides a former UC nazim Afzal Yousf, and local councillor Shafique Dogar, for killing his son.

The woman flanked by his family members told journalists that they were satisfied with the investigations aginst the accused so far and believed they would get justice.

PML (N) Punjab vice-president Zahid Anwar Wahla , who was also present at the press conference said he just wanted that the writ of the law should be enforced, and added he would continue to support the aggrieved family whose young member was murdered by the police.
