DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least three people were killed and eleven others, including a woman, were injured in a series of separate firing incidents, a stabbing and an accident reported from Dera Murad Jamali, Notal, Tambo and Jhal Magsi.
In the main market of Dera Murad Jamali, armed motorcyclists opened fire on people sitting at a shop near DC Chowk, killing Mubarak Ali and seriously injuring his companion, Nabi Bakhsh and a passerby, Noor Hassan. The attack triggered panic in the area the assailants fled while firing into the air.
Police said they reached the site shortly after the incident.
“After initial medical treatment, the injured were referred to Larkana due to their critical condition,” an official said.
Vendor stabbed over an unripe watermelon
Authorities linked the attack to an ongoing land dispute between the Kahiri and Sawand tribes in the Chhattar area’s village of Paleji. Police have set up checkpoints and launched a search operation.
In a separate incident within the limits of Notal Police Station, armed men opened fire in Quba Sher Khan Goth Qasim Khoso over a family dispute, killing Qurban Ali, son of Muhammad Ismail Deerkhani, on the spot.
Police shifted the body to the Teaching Hospital after completing legal formalities and later handed it over to the heirs.
Meanwhile, in the Tambo area under Manjhoshori Police Station, a tractor-trolley fell into a ditch near Bari Shaakh Goth Ghaus Bakhsh Gola, killing Abdul Khaliq and injuring the driver. Both were shifted to BHU Manjhoshori. In another firing incident within Saddar Police Station limits, Syed Irshad Shah, son of Syed Kabir Shah, was injured.
Separately, at the Dera Murad Jamali livestock market, a dispute over an unripe watermelon led Umeed Ali Domki to stab a vendor, Qaisar Shah, seriously injuring him before fleeing.
In Sharqi Solangi Mohalla, a domestic dispute between two groups of the Sheikh community escalated into an armed clash, injuring four individuals: Abdur Razzaq, Shah Nawaz, Riyaz Ahmed and Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh. All were taken to the hospital for treatment.
In Jhal Magsi, under Sadar Police Station, armed men allegedly opened fire in Goth Mahi Faqir over accusations of so-called “honour”, injuring a man and a woman. Police said the suspects fled the scene and that further investigations are underway.
