FAISALABAD, July 1: The City District Government Faisalabad imposed a complete ban on setting up of new industrial units in congested city areas.

The ban was imposed during a Wasa meeting held here with district nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef in the chair on Saturday.

The meeting noted that due to the industrial units in different localities, citizens had been facing sewerage problems.

The nazim asked the Wasa authorities not to issue NOC to new industries so that the problem could be resolved.

He said Wasa would provide modern facilities to its consumers and upgrade the system of sewerage and water supply and the consumers should pay their dues in time otherwise strict action would be taken.

He asked the Wasa high ups to accelerate the pace of work for the establishment of water treatment plants as the underground water of the district had become brackish. The Jhal Khanuana water works channel should be modernised and upgraded to meet the water supply requirements of the city, he added.
