Narowal’s model bazaar to be completed by May 30

NAROWAL: The model bazaar under the city beautification project will be made functional by May 30 as 70 per cent of the development work has been completed.

This was stated by Additional Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Committee General Administrator Ghulam Sarwar while talking to Dawn on Wednesday.

He said the Narowal district development committee had approved the remodeling and upgradation project of the main bazaar under the city beautification project. He said that Rs70 million were being spent on the remodeling and upgradation of the 800-metre long bazaar.

He said the model bazaar was being built from the Zafarwal Bypass and to the Narowal Government Girls Postgraduate College. He said if the Punjab government provided more funds for the expansion of the project, it would be further expanded.

Mr Sarwar said that various stalls were being set up for citizens at the bazaar, including food outlets. A model rehri bazaar was also being built in the bazaar as per the vision of Punjab chief minister, which would provide fresh fruits, vegetables, chicken, mutton, beef and other items at government rates.

He said the city beautification project would be completed by May 30, 2026 and construction work was continuing day and night to complete the project on time.
