IMO chief calls for security of seafarers, freedom of navigation worldwide

International Maritime Organisation (IMO) chief Arsenio Dominguez has told the United Nations Security Council, “Shipping and seafarers should never be used as leverage in geopolitical conflicts.”

Addressing a high-level debate on the safety and protection of waterways, Dominguez has reiterated his call for the “safety of seafarers, freedom of navigation & stability of supply chains worldwide”.
