CHARSADDA: Three persons were killed and one was injured over old enmity in Batgram area here on Thursday, police said.

The killed included Abubakar, a resident of Kangra, Abdullah, a resident of Mathra, and Shah Sawar, a resident of Gonda, while Naveed, a resident of Gonda, was injured.

Police have registered a case against the accused including Shoaib, son of Chinar Gul and Khitab Gul, residents of Mathra, on the complaint of Nasrullah, cousin of the deceased, and initiated an investigation.

Police said efforts were underway to arrest the suspects involved in the incident.

In the second incident in Shabqadar bazaar, a man identified as Shaukat was shot dead, while two others including Yaseen, a resident of Mathra, and shopkeeper Ameenullah, a resident of Mero Kali, sustained injuries.

The police registered a case against the accused identified as Zubair and Shakeel, and Niaz Ali, all residents of Mathra, on the complaint of Farooq Shah and launched an investigation.

Meanwhile, in the Kubi village incident, a property dispute between a man and his brother- in-law turned violent, resulting in the killing of Ahsanullah, while four others including the deceased’s were injured.

The injured were identified as wife of Ahsanullah, Zafar Hussain, Alamgir Shah and a passerby Asim, residents of Kubi.

Police registered cases against both parties and started further investigation.

In yet another incident, a young man identified as Hazar was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in a busy market on Harichand Road in Umarzai area in Charsadda on Thursday, police said. Police said the assailants managed to flee the scene.

A case was registered against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the victim’s father.

The deceased was the sole breadwinner of his family.

Following the incident, angry residents placed the body at Umarzai Chowk and blocked the road, demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

Later, after negotiations with the police, the demonstrators ended the protest, reopened the road for traffic, and shifted the body for burial.
