Maritime shipping tracker MarineTraffic says that the sanctioned tanker boarded and seized by the US, the Tifani, is laden with 2 million barrels of crude oil.

“The 330-metre VLCC (very large crude carrier), built in 2003, was reportedly carrying around 2 million barrels of crude loaded at Kharg Island earlier this month,” the tracker has said on X.

Citing its data, MarineTraffic says the Tifani crossed Dondra Head on April 19 and entered South-East Asia on April 20 before it was boarded.

“Tifani is currently underway in South-East Asia, sailing at around 6 knots with a reported draught of 20 metres, indicating she remains laden,” MarineTraffic adds.
