New Zealand’s business confidence sank in the first quarter as the crisis in the Middle East hurt sentiment, a private think tank said, Reuters reports.
A net four per cent of firms surveyed expected general business conditions to worsen compared with 48pc ooptimism in the previous quarter, the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research’s quarterly survey of business opinion showed.
The survey was undertaken between March 6 and April 10, shortly after the US-Israel war on Iran began.
