ISLAMABAD, June 29: Opener Umair Khan continued his fine run with the bat guiding Punjab Club to victory in the final of the ICA Inter-city cricket championship, their third consecutive title.
Umair adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his sizzling unbeaten knock of 75 helped his side overhaul West Indies Club's total of 165 for seven.
Punjab were home in just over 27 overs and lost four wickets on the way. But they owed it all to Umair who was also declared the Best Batsman.
The West Indies total had revolved round Tahir Zafar's 47 and a score of 30 by Samiullah. Asadullah and Sohail Khan were the wicket-takers for Punjab.
Punjab who scooped up a cash prize of Rs 25,000 besides the glittering trophy had earlier won the ICA Margalla Festival Tournament and the Inter-City One-Day Championship.
The tournament was contested separately between the teams of Rawalpindi and Islamabad with the winning sides of each leg playing Thursday's final.
