Iran’s Consulate General in Mumbai says that “contrary to popular belief, Iran doesn’t give blanket approval to Chinese ships”.
It pointed out that Iran did not grant passage to a Chinese vessel, which it said was a bulk carrier named Sun Profit.
It claimed that the vessel, “owned and crewed by Chinese nationals, was forced to abruptly change course and turn back”.
