ISLAMABAD: Iranian Interior Minister Eskender Momini has lauded Pakistan’s efforts in achieving a ceasefire and its role in reconciliation.

According to a communication received here from Tehran through the interior ministry’s media wing, Mr Momini was talking to his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Raza Naqvi who called on him on Friday.

The Iran leader said that the ceasefire was established through the mediation of brotherly country Pakistan and added that Iran will always remember Pakistan’s sincere and positive role in this regard.

Both sides held detailed discussions on the latest regional developments. On his part, Mr Naqvi said Pakistan desires sustainable peace and stability in the region. He emphasised that sincere efforts are being made to find a lasting solution to the Middle East conflict.

“War is not the solution to any problem; dialogue is the only way to resolve disputes,” he added.
