BD budget

DHAKA, June 29: The Bangladesh parliament on Thursday passed the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2006-07, amid walkout by the main opposition Awami League.

The finance and planning minister, who placed the annual financial statement on June 8, initiated the Bill of Appropriations in the parliament which was passed by voice vote after some discussion.

The budget has outlined a gross expenditure of Tk887,320.1 million in response to demands for grants and appropriations placed in the parliament by the finance minister on June 8, 2006 through the annual financial statement.
