KARACHI: A 55-year-old man was gunned down in Shah Latif Town on early Wednesday morning.

Police said unknown suspects knocked on the door of a house in Sector-31-C near Brohi Chowk. As the victim, Noor Din, opened the door, the suspects opened fire on him and fled. He sustained critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Area SHO Mumtaz Marwat said the victim, father of 10 children, was a rickshaw driver. He originally hailed from Kashmore, where his coffin was taken for burial.

The officer suspected some personal enmity behind the murder. He said the heirs told the police that they would get an FIR registered after performing the last rites.
