ISLAMABAD, June 28: The government has prepared two red books carrying information about the country’s most wanted terrorists and human-traffickers, sources told Dawn on Wednesday.

The books have been compiled by the Federal Investigation Agency’s special investigation group (SIG) and based on information provided by the federal and provincial intelligence agencies and police.

The books will be launched formally on July 1, the sources said. Following their launching, the books would be sent to all provincial governments and law enforcement agencies so that the wanted people could be arrested.

They said the red books had information about 80 terrorists against whom the government had already announced head money.

The sources said the documents have great significance as they have been drafted after seeking consensus of all intelligence and law-enforcement agencies.

People who have their names in the red books have already been placed on the Exit Control List. They have also been declared absconders by the relevant courts.

When contacted, FIA’s Deputy Director General Tariq Khosa confirmed that the agency had prepared two separate red books.

The official said people involved in bomb attacks, destruction of national assets, suicide attacks, major murders and robberies had been included in one book.

Similarly, he said, a list of people involved in major human-trafficking cases including those associated with camel jockeys network and travel agents had been provided in the second book.

Mr Khosa said the two books contained names of only Pakistani terrorists and human-traffickers.
