SHEIKHUPURA, June 28: A bodyguard of a former MPA’s deceased son was killed in police custody here on Wednesday. Yasir Dogar, son of former MPA Mehboob Dogar, was kidnapped by some unidentified men near motorway overhead bridge on Tuesday. Later, the kidnappers reportedly poisoned Yasir to death.

The deceased bodyguard, Nazeer, a resident of Ghang Village, was accompanying Yasir when he was kidnapped. City A division police had picked up Nazeer to investigate the abduction and death of Yasir.

Nazeer’s family alleged at a press conference here that he was tortured to death by the police.

Meanwhile, the police, on the orders of DPO, registered the case against four personnel, including ASI Saif, head constable Babar, and constables Asad and Tanveer.

mysterious death: A suspected killer died in mysterious circumstances in the A-division police station lock-up on Wednesday.

Reports said the police arrested Abbas the other day from a house on the Bhekhi Road charging him with murder. After interrogation for a few hours, he was detained in a lock-up where he was found dead in the morning.

The police said he was an addict and non-provision of drugs might have caused his death.

The suspect’s heirs, on the other hand, claimed that Abbas was innocent and the police had arrested him without any justification and later tortured him to death.

Sheikhupura DPO Aslam Tareen has asked the SP investigation to conduct the inquiry into the case.
