Strait of Hormuz situation is an argument for strong international maritime coalition: EU’s Kallas

European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is a clear point in favour of a “strong international coalition on maritime security”, Reuters reports.
Addressing a meeting of the United Nations’ Security Council in New York, she has not specified what such a coalition would do specifically, but adds the European Union has rejected any arrangement that would limit “the free and safe passage through the straits in accordance with international law.”
