Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says that “our friends in the region and beyond the region” were praising PM Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir for Pakistan’s mediation efforts.
Addressing the National Assembly, he lauded the national leadership for “initiating a relation” with the military after considering the country’s past, adding that its “dividends are in front of us”.
The minister said it was a “moment of immense joy” and a “historic moment” for Pakistan.
