The Iranian mission to the UN has expressed “appreciation” to China and Russia after they vetoed a draft resolution backed by the Gulf states aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reports.
“By blocking a flawed draft, they upheld the UN Charter and prevented the Security Council from being misused to legitimise US aggression under the pretext of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf,” it wrote on X.
