Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian says that the root cause behind the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz is “US-Israeli illegal military operations against Iran”.
In a post on X, the spokesperson says the international community needs to pursue de-escalation together, to prevent regional turmoil from further affecting the global economy and energy security.
“Only by ending the military actions and restoring peace and stability in the Gulf can the international shipping lane be open and safe,” Lin says.
