Pak-China maritime exercise Sea Guardian IV concludes

KARACHI: Exercise Sea Guardian IV that bean on March 25 between the navies of Pakistan and China, culminated at Karachi on Wednesday.

The exercise aimed to enhance interoperability and maritime cooperation between the navies of Pakistan and China. The exercise comprised two phases, including a five-day port visit to Karachi and a two-day sea phase in the North Arabian Sea.

Peoples Liberation Army (Navy) Ship Daqing was accorded a warm welcome by PNS Taimur upon arrival for Exercise Sear Guardian IV.

The exercise featured various bilateral activities, including exchange visits onboard fleet units, orientation visits to naval installations and professional discussions focusing on contemporary maritime challenges. A maiden Young Officers Seminar was also conducted, along with preparations for the sea phase.

Upon culmination of the port visit, the PN and PLA (N) ships participated in the sea phase of the exercise. Major exercises conducted during the sea phase included Air Defence Exercises encompassing tactics to counter multi-domain swarm attacks, exercises with a PN submarine, a conventional War at Sea exercise and Live Gunnery Firing.

These activities enhanced interoperability between the two navies at both operational and tactical levels.

The successful culmination of Exercise Sea Guardian IV was followed by a PN–PLA (N) Coordinated Patrol in the Arabian Sea, underscoring the commitment and resolve of both navies towards maritime security and stability in the region.
