The 35-year-old woman from Sangwala village was a teacher at a Government Primary School Tamman. She had two minor daughters while her husband was a soldier in Pakistan Army. The woman’s father used to sleep at her house as her husband was posted in Rawalpindi.

The convict tried to rape the woman threatening her that he would kill her if she resisted. But to save her honour the woman not only resisted but also cried for help.

Her father who was sleeping in the drawing room also woke up and he rushed towards his daughter. As the convict saw the father, he stabbed the woman in the back and managed to run away leaving the knife thrust in her back.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital from where she was referred to Rawalpindi due to her critical condition. On the following day she succumbed to her wound. It was revealed that the deceased was four and a half months pregnant.

Police arrested the accused after registering a case against him on the charges of murder, causing miscarriage, attempt to rape and house trespass.

The court after finding all the allegations true against the convict sentenced him to death for murdering her and her unborn child along with a compensation of Rs 500,000 to the legal heirs of the deceased.

On the charge of attempted rape, the judge awarded ten year jail term to the convict along with a fine of Rs 200,000 while he was also slapped with life term on the charges of lurking house trespass.
