US Representative Nancy Mace, a prominant Republican, says on X that she attended a security briefing on the Iran war as part of her duties on the House Armed Services Committee, where the military objectives presented by Trump administration officials to lawmakers did not match the justifications given to the American public for the war, Al Jazeera reports.

“I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing,” Mace posted without giving more details on the alleged gaps in information.

Mace, one of the few Republicans publicly opposing the US-Israeli war on Iran, has also told reporters outside Capitol Hill she will oppose any new funding if it involves US boots on the ground.
