French President Emmanuel Macron has held talks with Oman’s sultan and thanked him for the efforts the country is making to reach a negotiated solution to the crisis.
He has also reaffirmed France’s solidarity with the Sultanate amid regional escalation in a post on X.
Macron says the two leaders discussed the need to “restore freedom of navigation” and security in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that Oman’s role would be crucial in this context.
Macron has reaffirmed coordination with the Sultanate to de-escalate the conflict, “particularly through an immediate and complete cessation of attacks targeting energy infrastructure and civilian facilities”.
