VEHARI, June 23: A girl student of the local nursing school died reportedly due to gastroenteritis at the DHQ Hospital on Thursday night.

Kulsoom, the second year student, started vomiting after she reached her house from the hospital. She was rushed to hospital where she died.

The hospital staff claimed that she was suffering from gastroenteritis. They said that some half a dozen patients were admitted with complaints of gastroenteritis on Thursday.

While DHQ MS Dr Nasir Dilshad claimed that the victim was a midwife and food poisoning caused her death.

Meanwhile, eight people fainted due to scorching heat in Muslim Town and Chak 9-11/WB on Friday.

Yamin, Saleem, Younus, Ghafoor, Dilawer and Wahid were admitted to hospital.
