Davydenko beaten on grass again

DEN BOSCH (Netherlands), June 21: Victory on grass continued to be elusive for Russian top seed Nikolay Davydenko who lost 6-2, 6-4 in the first round of the Ordina Open to Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber on Tuesday.

Kohlschreiber broke Davydenko's serve twice early in the first set. He saved one break point when he was 5-2 ahead and did not allow Davydenko another in the match at the Wimbledon warm-up event.

The Russian has won only one match on grass in 11 attempts.

In the women's event, second seed Dinara Safina was tested before she beat Italy's Maria Elena Camerin 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals.
