LAHORE: The Government College University (GCU) Lahore and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the implementation of an E-Filing and Office Automation System, to digitise the administrative work of the varsity.

The MoU was signed by GCU Registrar Dr Shaukat Ali and PITB Director Development and Procurement Ataur Rehman.

It is aimed to modernise the office procedures at the varsity through the use of information and communication technologies, making administrative operations more efficient, faster and transparent.

Under the MoU, the E-FOAS will be mainly used to digitise the official correspondence and file movement, say a press release. The initiative is expected to reduce delays in administrative work.
