ATTOCK, June 21: A man slaughtered his wife and sister-in-law over a family dispute, prompting his brother-in-law to shoot and injure his sister in revenge.

Police said Shahnawaz Alizai, a resident of Hazro, on Tuesday night got infuriated and dragged his wife, Samina, and sister-in-law, Kalsoom, out into the courtyard where he slaughtered them with a sharp knife.

Later, the accused escaped from the scene and informed his brother-in-law, Sultan Afzar, about the crime.

Hearing the news of his sisters’ murder, Sultan Afzar got emotional and rushed to the house of the accused but could not find him there. He then opened fire on Shahnawaz’s sister, Hasina Bibi, in a fit of anger.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Tehsil Headquarters hospital, Hazro, from where she was shifted to Rawalpindi due to her critical condition.

The Hazro police have registered a double-murder case against the accused and started investigation. However, no arrests could be made till filling of this report.
