About half of Iran’s uranium enriched to up to 60 per cent purity — a short step from weapons grade — was stored in an underground area at Isfahan that seems largely unharmed by US and Israeli bombing, UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi has said, Reuters reports.

“We believe Isfahan had a bit more than 200 kilogrammes of 60pc [enriched] uranium. The widespread assumption is that the material is still there,” Grossi told reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Paris.
