KARACHI, June 21: The Pakistan Hotels Association (PHA) has urged the Sindh government to abolish the hotel bed tax or a fixed amount per available room be charged to avoid the unnecessary procedure in assessing the hotel’s tax liabilities.
This was discussed in a meeting held recently between Sindh Senior Minister Excise and Taxation Syed Sardar Ahmed and a delegation of the association.
According to a press release the minister assured the delegation of full cooperation in resolving the problems being faced by the hotel industry.
The delegation said that abolition of bed tax would not only minimise the administrative cost for its collection but would also smoothen operations of the industry.
