GUJRANWALA, Feb 8: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday issued show-cause notice to the police official who arrested an accused despite his interim bail by the court.
Reports said Tanzil Ahmad of Khan Town was booked by Saddar police over his quarrel a couple of days back. However, the accused got an interim bail from the court through his counsel Advocate Muhammad Irfan.
On the orders of the court, the counsel gave personal surety to the court that same would be deposited on next hearing which was accepted by the court.
Meanwhile, ASI Nasir Khan arrested him despite knowing the situation.
The counsel on Friday deposited the surety bonds before the court at the time of hearing and informed the court that the accused had been arrested by police.
Judge Jamshed Husain summoned the ASI before the court. The court issued him show-cause notice and also recommended the SSP to take punitive action against the said police officer on the charge of violating the court orders.
The court released the accused.
BLOOD UNIT: The blood transfusion unit in the Divisional Headquarters Hospital started functioning here on Friday.
According to details, the unit had for quite sometime been out of order for not having proper equipment and the patients were being referred to private laboratories for the blood transfusion.
On the demands of the poor patients, the business community offered donations for the provision of new machinery to the hospital.

Reports reaching here revealed four robbers burst into Maqsood Ahmad’s house in Garjakh, held up the inmates and started collecting valuables.
Meanwhile, some visitors who had stayed in the upper storey raised an alarm. The intruders took to heels firing in the air.

LOOTED: Some five dacoits on Friday took away cash, 60 tolas of jewellery and other valuables worth Rs500,000 from trader Mushtaq Ahmad’s house in Sabzi Mandi.
