LAHORE, June 20: Three people were murdered and seven others got injuries in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday. Police said three armed men stormed into a house in Mughalpura and opened fire when inmates raised an alarm. One of the inmates, Deeba, 22, suffered critical injuries and died in hospital.

The family said the intruders were robbers, but the police denied it saying the girl had been engaged with Shahid of Faisalabad whom she would not like to marry. They claimed one of the family members told them that the attackers had links to the girl’s fiancée.

Anwar was killed and seven others injured in a crossfire between two rival groups — Khokhar and Nambardar — in Hanjarwal.

The injured men were shifted to hospital. Of them, one person was stated to be in critical condition.

Nadeem, 32, was shot dead allegedly by his nephew Adeel and his sister-in-law Shafqat Bibi over a property dispute at Bhagatpura.
