Record uplift budget for Mandi

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, June 20: A record Rs7 billion has been allocated for carrying out development projects in the district. This was stated by PML youth wing provincial senior vice-president Muhammad Iqbal Lali while speaking to Dawn on Tuesday.

He said the PML government had approved a huge sum of Rs3 billion for the establishment of road network, Rs1 billion for the construction of a new DHQ hospital, Rs260 million for provision of natural gas, launch of TB DOTS programme requiring Rs80 million and recruitment of 50 teachers.

About the ruling party chances in the general elections, he was confident that his party would sweep the polls in the district as well as in the whole country.

BAIL: Justice Muhammad Bilal of the Lahore High Court has granted bail to former union council No 3 nazim Chaudhry Arshad Mahmood alias Kukoo in a double murder case.

The case was lodged with the Saddar police station and the court allowed bail on Tuesday.

According to the prosecution, Mukhtar Ahmad and his nephew Muhammad Imran were shot dead by their rivals in 2003 at Mauza Mandi Bahauddin.
