ISLAMABAD June 20: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Durrani on Tuesday admitted that although no agreement, including the nuclear energy deal, had been reached with China during Gen Pervez Mushaarraf’s recent visit to China, a chain of activity in every sphere would be witnessed soon. He was speaking at a news conference here on Tuesday.

He claimed that Gen Musharraf’s interaction with Chinese, Russian, Iranian counterparts and leaders of Central Asian Republics will usher in a new era of mutual cooperation in economic defence trade and cultural fields.

“A unique charter was presented by Gen Musharraf at the SCO summit, which foresaw Pakistan’s strategic location providing key economic benefits to SCO members besides help bring long-lasting peace in Asia,” he said in a written statement distributed during the conference.

Referring to Pakistan’s stand on Iran’s nuclear issue, he said Islamabad desired that the issue should be resolved through dialogue.
