ISLAMABAD, June 20: Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to expand cooperation in the oil and gas sector, besides strengthening linkages and inter-dependencies for overall development of the petroleum sector.

This was decided in a meeting held between Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon and Kuwaiti Minister for Energy Shaikh Ahmed Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah here on Tuesday.

The meeting was also attended by Petroleum Secretary Ahmed Waqar and the members of visiting Kuwaiti delegation.

Both sides agreed to step up exchange of experts’ delegations to benefit from each other’s experiences and know-how in the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector.

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon welcomed the Kuwaiti investment for setting up an oil refinery at Port Qasim and invited Kuwaiti companies to take benefit of the abundant opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
