The district administration has closed down 37 public and private sector schools in the border areas of Khyber.

According to an official statement, the decision was taken in light of constant provocations from the Afghan side during the last four to five days.

“Our primary concern is to safeguard the lives of students and the teaching staff in these schools,” the statement added.

It said that the institutions that would be closed included 29 boys’ schools and eight girls’ schools.
