JACOBABAD, June 19: Two people were shot dead in the Abdul Rasheed Brohi in the jurisdiction of Mouladad police station on Monday. A group of Jakhranis attacked the Brohi village. The villagers returned the fire. As a result of the firing, two persons Deen Mohammad Brohi 25, and Hussain Bux Brohi 38, were killed.

Police reached the place and cordoned off the area. Police attributed killings to an old enmity over a piece of land between Brohis and Jakhranis which, so far, had claimed 11 lives from both sides. The bodies were taken to civil hospital Jacobabad for autopsy. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

ACCIDENT: One person, Bandah Ali, was killed and six others were injured when a passenger pick-up overturned near village Nasruddin Khoso in the jurisdiction of Kashmore police station on Monday.

The pick-up was going from Kashmore to Nasruddin village, when its tie-rod broke.

Bandah Ali died on his way to hospital six others Waris, Zainul Abedin, Ghulam Mohammad, Ali Ahmed, Sultan and Arsullah were injured and admitted to hospital.

WHEEL TAX: The Mazdoor Ittehad, Jacobabad, took out a procession against wheel tax imposed on them here on Monday. They raised slogans against the municipal administration for collecting unjustified wheel tax from vendors in the name of land tax.

They demanded of the concerned authority to waive the wheels tax from the labours and threatened to extend the protest in case their demands were not met.
