Explosions and air raid sirens were heard over West Jerusalem, according to reports by AFP and Al Jazeera.
“A short while ago, the [Israeli military] identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel,” the army said.
“Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the statement added, urging the public to stay in shelters.
