PM Shehbaz directs ministry to arrange safe return of Pakistanis in Iran via Azerbaijan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take all steps for the safe return of Pakistani citizens in Iran via Azerbaijan, in view of the situation in Iran.

He directed this while chairing a high-level meeting to review the security situation in the country, according to an official handout.

The prime minister also directed the ministry to immediately contact the government of Azerbaijan for the return of Pakistani citizens from Iran, the statement said.

Regarding the security situation in the country, the premier directed the relevant departments at the federal and provincial levels to ensure comprehensive and effective security measures.
