LAHORE, June 18: Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf is fit and will play a two-day practice match at Qadhafi Stadium on Tuesday, said captain Inzamamul Haq.

Talking to reporters on Sunday after attending the national training camp set up for upcoming tour of England, the skipper said Yousuf did not practice with the team on Saturday and Sunday due to back problem and would take three-day rest before the match.

“The problem with Yousuf is not serious and such fitness problems are part of the game,” Inzamam said.

The middle-order batsman is prone to injuries as he came back from West Indies and Sri Lanka tours due to chronic shoulder problem.

Inzamam said a lot of cricket was responsible for players’ injuries.

Meanwhile, the 16-member Pakistan team for the tour of England was hit by fitness problems.

Besides Yousuf, medium-pacer Rana Navedul Hasan and opener Imran Farhat were also battling injuries.

Naved was facing groin-injury while Imran struggling against hamstring.

The fate of Naved will be decided by doctors in England on Monday.

Selectors will select Shoaib Akhtar or Samiullah Niazi if Naved is declared unfit.

Shoaib, battling an ankle injury, is likely to be examined by the PCB medical commission in next couple of days.

He will be considered for selection if the panel allowed him to start bowling from June 25.
