Maria scores swift victory

ISLAMABAD, June 18: Maria Toor Pakay of Wapda made a winning start in the National Women Squash Championship that began in Bhurban on Sunday.

Her victim in the first round was Sindh’s Habiba Khan who was swept aside 9-0, 9-1, 9-0 in only 13 minutes.

The England-based Carla Khan was given a bye in the first round.

The last match of the day between PIA's Irum Jehan and Army's Mehwish Hanif was still in progress.
