Khurram, Imran for Asian meet

KARACHI, June 17: Pakistan No 1 Khurram Agha has been drawn in group “F” of the 22nd Asian snooker championship being held at Colombo from June 30 to July 6.

Another Pakistani player Imran Shahzad has been placed in group “E” of the competition.

They earned the right to represent the country at the Asian meet by virtue of attaining top two positions in the 31st National snooker championship held in March. Khurram beat Imran 6-3 in the final to win his maiden national crown.

Groups:

“A”: Jin Long (China), Mubarak Al Awais (Kuwait), Tun Hsin Lee(Taiwan), Pham Thanh Thuy (Vietnam), Keen Hoon Moh (Malaysia).

“B”: Mohammad Al-joaker (UAE), M. I. Nagaria (Sri Lanka), Yutaka Fukuda (Japan), Lim Chut Kiat (Singapore), Kein Foot Yong (Malaysia), Manan Chandra (India).

“C”: Habib Sabah (Bahrain), Takao Kurimoto (Japan), Ulzitogtokh Davaasuren (Mangolia), Amir Sh arkbosh (Iran), Susantha Boteju (Sri Lanka).

“D”: Issara Kachaiwong (Thailand), Ahmed Abdulleh Asera (S. Arabia), Wan-Su Lee (Korea), Ahmed Saif (Qater), N. Samarawickrama (Sri Lanka).

“E” Atthasit Mahitti (Thailand), Imran Shahzad (Pakistan), Pham Hoai Nam (Vietnam), Tuan Li (China), Chan Hon Kwan (Hong Kong).

“F”: Boom Aun Keith (Singapore), Khurram Agha (Pakistan), Ryan Sumaratne (Sri Lanka), Nizar Abdulleh (S. Arabia), Tea Hoon Jung (Korea).
