KARACHI, June 17: Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman on Saturday took notice of contaminated water being supplied to various parts of the city, including Malir Extension, Orangi, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Eidgah Lines, Upper Gizri, Baloch Goth, Kausar Niazi Colony, North Nazimabad, Moosa Colony, F B Area, Usmanabad and Lyari.

Taking notice of the newspaper reports in this regard, he directed the managing director of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to pay attention to the problem and, instead of ignoring citizens’ complaints, take action to redress the same. He sought a report from the KWSB MD in this regard within three days.

Meanwhile, the chief secretary also took notice of newspaper reports pertaining to the occupation of Thul Press Club by some armed men, and asked home secretary, information secretary and provincial police chief to immediately conduct an inquiry into the affair and submit a report to him within three days.—PPI
