KARACHI, June 15: The 10th Style snooker championship begins at the Karachi Gymkhana Friday with top 32 seeded players vying for honours.
The competition at the national level has become extremely competitive in the recent past that any player can win on a given day.
This is evident from sixth seed Naveen Perwani’s triumph against former world champion, Mohammad Yousuf, 6-5 in the final of the 10th KC Open snooker challenge on Monday.
All top players will be seen in action in the sixteen matches which are on card for the opening day. The matches will be played in four sessions.
Friday’s fixtures:
10.00am: Khurram Agha v Mohammad Riaz; Imran Shahzad v Mohammad Baqar; Abu Saim v Danish Karim; Saleh Mohammad v Mohammad Akhlas.
12.00am: Sohail Shehzad v Mehmood Khan; Naveen Perwani v Tahir Rasheed; Rambel Gul v Mohammad Sharif; Vishan Gir v Mohammad Sadiq.
2.00pm: Irfan Rasheed Khan v Raja Rashid; Mohammad Asif v Minhas Malik; Imran Qamar v Farhan Noor; Salman Shaikh v Arshad Siddiq.
4.00pm: Jawed Ansari v Syed Mesam Zaidi; Atiq Latif Bux v Kamran Razzak; Raees Khan v Saqib Butt; Mohammad Yousuf v M. Imtiaz Tipu.
