Zakat panel chairmen suspended

DADU, June 15: The district coordination officer suspended chairmen of four local zakat committees here on Wednesday for issuing cheques of zakat to undeserving people.

The DCO, who also takes care of district zakat committee, suspended Mohammad Saleh Panhwar of deh Marvi, Manzoor Hussain of deh Taga, Basheer Ahmed Panhwar of deh Nan Lakho and Ghulam Nabi Panhwar of deh Rai Bazar.

DCO Aijaz Mangi received complaints against chairmen of Zakat committees when he went to the K. G. School on Wednesday to distribute cheques of Guzara allowance to the deserving people. After checking the records, he suspended the four chairmen.

SEMINAR: The National Tuberculosis Control Programme organised a seminar on tuberculosis at the Taluka Hospital, Johi, on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Hameed Soomro said that due to poverty people were unable to purchase costly medicines for TB.
