NAWABSHAH, June 15: A large number of people from the District Council Quarters staged a demonstration in front of the press club here on Wednesday against kidnapping of a woman, Ms Pari.

The protesters blocked the Press Club Road by burning tyres. They raised slogans against police.

They said that some members of the Jatoi community kidnapped her at gunpoint.

They further said that the police were not registering the case and also not taking any action.

TPO Riaz Shah reached there and assured them of registration of case after which the protesters dispersed.

Later, an FIR was lodged at the A-Section police station against six persons, including Gohram, Mehrab, Sanwal, Majnu and Rahib.

ACCIDENT: A man died and three others injured seriously in a traffic accident on the National Highway near Shahpur Jehanian on Wednesday.
