Woman killed, sister hurt

GUJRANWALA, June 15: A woman was shot dead while her sister injured by their cousins over an agricultural land dispute in the Civil Lines area on Thursday.

Police said Uzma, 27, and Siddiqa, 19, were sitting in the compound of their house when accused Navid, Qasim, Goga and Bashir came there. They opened fire on them after exchange of hot words as a result of which Uzma was killed on the spot while Siddiqa sustained injuries.

The injured was sent to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, in critical condition.

Police have registered a case.
