KARACHI, June 15: Five ships carrying containers, general cargo and steel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where a dozen ships were berthed to unload and load various commodities including sugar. They are Khairpur to offload sugar, Batu, to unload fertiliser, Al-Rabab to load cement and Jin Ace to offload coal.

They were followed by Satha Bum, Sinar Bontang, Hyundai Pride, Y.M.Moon, PONL Buenos Aires, Orient Independence, to unload and load containers, Johar to offload crude oil and Rising one to load naptha.

Six vessels, Bunga Kenari, Kota Waris, APL Osaka, Persepolis, Pacific Express, and PAC Antlia departed on Thursday, while Hyundai Stride, Satha Bum, Y.M.Moon,P ONL Buenos Aires, Corin Thaikos, Johar, Shao Shan-1 and Orient Independence are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.129m tons comprising 15,185 tons of export cargo and 0.114m tons of import cargo including sugar and cement.

The following ships are due on Friday: Kpta Jasa, Conti Harmony, with containers, J.Safe, and Nixolaos-P, with steel and Dina Queen, with general cargo.
